After the 15-year-old Jimmy Webb was infected with the voice of Glen Campbell as early as 1961, the Southern Gothic hit trilogy "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" (1967), "Wichita Lineman" (1968) and "Galveston" (1969) later linked the careers of Jimmy Webb and Glen Campbell.

It was a magical meeting of minds, with Campbell's expressive, melancholy voice a perfect match for Webb's widescreen lyrics and complex chord sequences. Over the decades, they met and recorded again and again. "I Am A Lineman For The County" brings together all the Jimmy Webb songs that Glen Campbell recorded between 1967 and 1982. "Jimmy was like Brian Wilson or Paul McCartney," said Campbell. "He could take a raw piece of material and turn it into a horseshoe. His songs are timeless."
