All 14 songs on this double album are concert recordings by Frumpy's successor band from the Hamburger Fabrik, here combined on one CD. An outstanding document in the history of Krautrock!

After three very successful studio albums and a live double LP, Frumpy disbanded in 1972: singer and front woman Inga Rumpf, keyboardist Jean Jacques Kravetz and bassist Karl-Heinz Schott continued as Atlantis, Frank Diez joined as the new guitarist and former Emergency drummer Curt Cress replaced Carsten Bohn, who came from the successful Frumpy days.

The eponymous debut album, which Atlantis recorded in London's Island Studios, sold very well in the USA, where Rumpf's blues-oriented voice was appreciated. After the recordings, Diez and Cress left the band. Udo Lindenberg and Cravinkel's guitarist George Meier stepped in for a tour with Traffic and Procol Harum. From then on, the personnel carousel at Atlantis was constantly turning, but this did not detract from the band's steadily growing commercial success.

Albums such as “It's Getting Better” (1973), “Ooh, Baby” (1974) and “Get On Board” (1975) are among the milestones in German rock history. In January 1976, Rumpf and Schott announced the break-up of the band. The album “Live” consists of concert recordings, all of which were recorded at the Hamburg Fabrik between 1973 and 1975. It was released in 1975 in a double vinyl edition in gatefold on the Vertigo label. A great live document that once again demonstrated the extraordinary musical presence of these five exceptional musicians (Rumpf, Bohn, Askew, Conti, Schott).

Hamburger Gruppe mit starken Blues- und Rockeinflüssen. Sängerin Inga Rumpf (geboren 2.8.1948 in Hamburg) ist die Chefin und der Star. Ihre Stimme prägt wesentlich den Stil der Gruppe und den Sound. 1965 begann die frühere Dekorateurin ihre Karriere in der Hamburger Folkband City Preachers, als diese sich 1970 auflösten, gründete sie mit ihrem Freund, dem Bassisten Karl-Heinz Schott (geboren 10. 6.1946 in Hamburg) Frumpy. Nach 2 Jahren entstand daraus Atlantis. Trotz großen Erfolges- auch im Ausland- wurde die Gruppe bis heute nicht mit personellen Schwierigkeiten fertig. Immer wieder wechselten die Musiker. Randy-Pie-Organist Jean-Jaques Kravetz gehörte einmal dazu, auch gab Udo Lindenberg ein kurzes Gastspiel. Zur Zeit spielen in der Band Schlagzeuger Ringo Funk (geboren 4.7.1945 in Eisenach), Organist Adrian Askew (geboren 31. 3.1947 in Sheffield - England), der Berliner Sologitarrist Frank Diez (geboren 2.11.1950 in Berlin, war früher schon einmal bei Atlantis) und Gitarrist Rainer Marz. Im Sommer 1975 nahm Inga Rumpf eine Solo-LP mit deutschen Texten auf: „Second-Hand Mädchen'. Im Frühjahr spielte die Gruppe auch 3 Monate in den USA. Original Presse-Info: Phonogram GmbH
