Dave Clark & Friends Dave Clark & Friends (CD)

Dave Clark & Friends is a 1972 album released by Dave Clark after the original Dave Clark Five had disbanded. Singer Mike Smith takes centre stage, bringing his distinctive voice to a collection that blends pop rock and soul with cover versions and original songs. Highlights include Neil Young’s “Southern Man”, Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home to Me”, “Signs”, “Draggin’ the Line” and “Put a Little Love in Your Heart”. The album also features “Won’t You Be My Lady”, “The Time Has Come”, “Officer McKirk” and “One-Eyed, Blue-Suited, Gun-Totin’ Man”. Dave Clark produced the record, which offers an interesting postscript to the Dave Clark Five story.
