With the release of his latest studio album 50, Herb Alpert reaches a huge milestone in his eventful music career, which began over 60 years ago in 1962: 50 is the 50th anniversary of his birth. The 89-year-old Alpert has experienced many a high point. In numbers, he has sold over 72 million albums worldwide, received 29 gold and platinum records and been awarded 8 Grammys. 50 is another impressive number to add to an already impressive list of statistics. And more importantly, 50 also celebrates 50 years of marriage to singer Lani Hall, their golden anniversary!

50 is full of the good vibes that have characterized the trumpeter's decade-long catalog, and continues the path Alpert has been on for the past decade. There's a mix of reinterpreted classics covered in Alpert's unmistakable style, including the doo-wop classic “Sh- Boom” by The Chords, Elvis' “Are You Lonesome Tonight”, “Baubles Bangles And Beads” (famously recorded by Frank Sinatra, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Wes Montgomery, among others) and more.
