Les chansons de l'annee 1959

1959 was a very successful year for French artists. The legendary Dalida still dominated the charts with her hits "Ciao Ciao Bambina", "Come prima" and "Guitare et tambourin". Rock'n'Roll also made its way into the French charts. Claude Piron was able to place two titles: "Viens" the French version of "When" and "Le docteur miracle" the French version of "Witch Doctor". Richard Anthony started his run with "Nouvelle Vague" and "Tu m'étais destinée", the French version of Paul Anka's hit "You Are My Destiny". Sacha Distel started his career with "Scoubidou" and "Oh quelle nuit". The great Édith Piaf was also able to place twice in the charts with the unforgettable "Milord" and with "Mon manège à moi".

Let this double CD take you to France in 1959 and indulge in memories. Some of the tracks are available on CD for the first time.
