Sam Cooke: Sam Cooke's Sar Records Story 1959-1965 (4-LP Set)
Sam Cooke's 4-vinyl set 'SAR Records Story' presents material recorded and mostly produced by the legendary soul singer for his own SAR label between 1959 and 1965, including some unreleased demos.
The first 2 records cover the religious side of the label, with a variety of tracks by Cooke's former group The Soul Stirrers and a generous helping of songs by R. H. Harris & His Gospel Paraders and the Womack Brothers. The 2nd half of the 4-Vinyl Collection also moves into Sam's gospel-derived soul sound, but with a worldly slant, and guest appearances from future stars Bobby Womack, Billy Preston and Johnnie Taylor, as well as L. C. Cooke, Johnnie Morisette, the Simms Twins and Mel Carter. Sam Cooke's “SAR Records Story” allows a great insight into a lesser-known part of Cooke's career, and is packed with often under-appreciated music by Sam.

Sam Cooke
I'll Come Running Back To You
You Send Me gehasst hatte.
