The saga of hard music continues with Brown Acid – The Eighth Trip! Once again, Riding Easy has searched far and wide to compile ten tracks from the heyday of heavy metal. As always, these rare tracks have been carefully selected, recorded analog, and fully licensed, so you can listen to them with a clear conscience and save a lot of time and money that you would otherwise have to spend searching for the original copies.
This release comes at you with a veritable onslaught – Attack's “School Daze” rocks in Detroit style. White Rock will blow you away with their 1972 hit “Please Don't Run Away.” This 45 rpm single was privately released by this Houston band, which reportedly performed with Josefus, Stone Axe, and Purple Sun. Both sides of Riverside's 1974 release rock from start to finish. They are also available exclusively here and are virtually unknown. And these are just a few of the outstanding rare singles featured here. One of the greatest appeals of the internet music revolution is the ability to easily find extremely rare music. But despite these vast archives, many great songs have remained undiscovered for nearly half a century—especially in certain genres. In the past, only the most dedicated and passionate record collectors had the stamina and skill to track down long-forgotten treasures in dusty record crates—often hoarding them in private collections or selling them at ridiculous collector's prices. Legendary compilations such as Nuggets, Pebbles, and ad nauseum have exhausted the treasures of early garage rock and proto-punk, keeping a large cross-section of underground music alive. However, few have delved into the wealth of proto-metal and pre-stoner rock tracks collected on Brown Acid and expertly archived them.
