Mitchell Tenpenny's new album This Is The Heavy is out via Riser House Entertainment/Sony Music. This week, Mitchell Tenpenny made history with his #1 Gold-certified single Truth About You - he now holds the shortest time between #1 songs in the modern chart era with just three weeks since his last chart-topper. On August 22, the single At The End Of A Bar, co-written by Tenpenny with labelmate Chris Young, reached #1.

Mitchell titled the album This Is The Heavy because the production packs a punch. "It's big. It's loud. It's hard-hitting and drum-heavy," Mitchell said. The project finds its own way between a little bit of country and a little bit of rock 'n' roll and is no doubt meant to be turned up. When describing the album's sound, Mitchell laughingly coined a new genre: farm emo.

This Is The Heavy is also heavy in the sense that the lyrics carry weight. The songs tell of memories good and bad - of exciting times in his life and those that were harder to get through. With this album, Mitchell has grown up and is in a new phase of life as a touring musician, family man and soon-to-be husband. Balancing all of that can be difficult. This Is The Heavy is a project where Mitchell loses himself with his clever lyrics and distinctive sound with a little something extra, and where he wants his fans to find themselves.

Truth About You became the most streamed debut of Mitchell's career with 2.5 million streams in its first three days. That number doubled within a week and the song has now reached over 125 million on-demand streams.

The powerhouse singer co-wrote every song and co-produced the project with Jordan M. Schmi.
