On her 2026 album *Land of the Forgotten*, Brit Taylor takes us to her much-discussed and misunderstood homeland, the Appalachians, with songs that reveal the multifaceted nature and complex people of this region. Taylor is an accomplished singer-songwriter who has been performing professionally since childhood. She has always taken matters into her own hands: Taylor sang seven nights a week on Broadway, cold-called record executives, and even started a cleaning business to finance her debut album “Real Me,” on which Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) co-wrote five of the songs. Just three years later, she was produced by two of Nashville’s most sought-after producers: Grammy winners Sturgill Simpson and David Ferguson. Since then, she has made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry, built a loyal fan base on tours across the country, and received praise from media outlets such as NPR, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and American Songwriter.
