Nur zwei Alben haben sie in ihrer kurzen Karriere veröffentlicht, dennoch zählten Taste zu Beginn der 1970er Jahre zu den größten Livebands der Welt. Ihr Ruf ist bis heute geblieben. Wenn Jimi Hendrix dich als den besten Gitarristen der Welt bezeichnet, dann sagt das etwas über dein Talent aus. Diese Ehre wurde Taste-Gitarrist und -Sänger Rory Gallagher beim Isle Of Wight-Festival 1970 zuteil. Neben Bands wie Chicago, The Who oder The Doors spielte die Band dort am 28. August des Jahres eines ihrer legendärsten Konzerte, 1971 auf Polydor-LP veröffentlicht. Mit der Band Taste begann die Karriere eines der größten Blues- und Rock-Musiker der Welt: Rory Gallagher.
