Change of Address is the thirteenth rock album by British instrumental (and sometimes vocal) group The Shadows.
The Shadows (also known as Drifters) are an English instrumental rock band. They were Cliff Richard's backing band from 1958 to 1968 and on a series of reunion tours, including 2020.The Shadows had 69 UK chart hits from the 1950s to the 2000s, 35 credited Shadows and 34 Cliff Richard and the Shadows. Group, which was at the forefront of the British beat group boom, was the first backing band to perform as stars. Pioneering with the instrument for four members, the band consisted of lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar and drums. Selections included pop, rock, surf rock and ballads with a jazz influence.
The core members from 1958 to 2015 were Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch. Along with the Fender guitar, the Vox amplifier was another cornerstone of the Shadows sound. The Shadows, starring Cliff Richard, dominated British pop music in the late 1950s and early 1960s in the years before the Beatles. The Shadows' number one hits included Apache, Kon-Tiki, Wonderful Land, Foot Tapper and Dance On! Although these and most of their best-known hits were instrumental, the group also recorded occasional vocal numbers and reached the U.K. Top Ten in 1965 with the group song Don't Make My Baby Blue. Two other singers Shadows also made the charts . They disbanded in 1968, but reunited in the 1970s for further commercial success.
The Shadows is the fifth most successful act in the British singles chart after Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Cliff Richard and Madonna. The Shadows and Cliff Richard & the Shadows each had four No. 1 best-selling EPs.

In 1958 guitarist Hank Marvin, guitarist Bruce Welch, bassist Jet Harris and drummer Tony Meeham joined forces to form a group called The Drifters to accompany Cliff Richard. Due to name disputes with the American group Drifters, they later renamed themselves Shadows.

In 1961 Brian Bennet joined the drums for Tony Meeham and Jet Harris was replaced by Brian Locking and John Rostill. The Shadows reaped considerable success with instrumental songs such as "Apache', "Atlantis" or "Frightened City' and as studio group Cliff Richards. In 1970 the Shadows split up to reunite in November 1973 with Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Brian Bennet and newcomer John Farrar. In this formation they also recorded their last LP "Rockin' with curly leads' and in 1975 they represented Great Britain at the "Grand Prix de la Chanson' in Stockholm, where they took second place.
