Rrinaco is the artistic child of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Corrina Rose Logston Stephens. Stephens found that her original material was so idiosyncratic, layered and unique that it needed its own space beyond her four names. Rrinaco is the musical parking lot for Stephens' song experimentation, but also the vehicle for the diverse talents she brings to the table. Stephens is best known for her fiddle playing and tenor singing in the traditional bluegrass scene with the band High Fidelity, but her powerful vocals form the foundation of Rrinaco. The delivery of these Little Songs is very folky, honest and conversational without the instrumentation straying too far from bluegrass. Rrinaco has an authenticity that feels innovative yet familiar. Like an old record you've heard a million times but never quite learned the lyrics to, the songs feel like something you know almost instinctively but can't quite put your finger on.
With simple but strong melodies, realistic lyrics that somehow sound like nursery rhymes, and themes that range from the divine to the ridiculous, Rrinaco is a decidedly new creation.
