With "Live", the blues and R&B guitarist releases his first concert recording after three studio productions. Alongside long-time live favourites such as "I'll Take The Easy Way" from his debut album, you can also hear tracks from the follow-up album, which includes "Too Many Cooks" and "Waiting For My Luck To Change". The current studio album "What You Need" contributes five more songs in addition to the title track and thus takes up the most space on the CD. Twelve minutes alone are allotted to an intense version of the slow blues "Give It To Me Straight", in which the band demonstrates its tremendous dynamism and gives its frontman plenty of room for his elegant guitar licks, which become so quiet in between that you can hear the stage boards crunching. The brilliant finale, as so often in Reiter's concerts, is a tribute to his guitar heroes Freddie King and Magic Sam. "Jimmy's Boogie" is a guitaristic tour de force that leaves an audibly enthusiastic audience behind.
