Chuck Reed was one of those great talents who somehow failed to ever make it big. He had a sweet country voice with perfect pitch that sometimes bore similarities to Webb Pierce and Hank Locklin; and Reed could make fine pop and rockabilly sounds as well as country. The BACM collection includes his best recordings from 1953 to 1961 for the Mercury, Nashville and Roulette labels.
