Jean-Louis and I met at a concert in Hildesheim, on December 12', 1999. We hit it off, right from the start. He was playing bass for my backup group, the 'Oliver - Gross - Quartett', and the two of us had a great time trading fours and doing the first two verses of 'Makin' Whoopee' as a vocal duet. We decided, on the spot, that we should do a cd together - just the two of us - and started looking for a producer.

All in vain - until my wife suggested that this might make a nice christmas - and birthday -present: from me to me. Jean-Louis and I chose the repertoire from our own list of favorites, adding one of my wife's favorites that was new to both of us: 'Send In The Clowns'. During rehearsal and recording, we again motivated one another, just as we had in 1999. Mehmet Ergin, who owns the studio and did the engineering, and his co - producer, Jorg Seidel - both excellent guitarists and fine musicians - provided a relaxed atmosphere and some good musical tips. It took five years for this idea to be realized: almost exactly four and a half from Hildesheim to Ergin's studio in Hamburg, and another nine months to get the cd released.
But... here it is.

A mixed bag of sixteen numbers - plus a bonus 'surprise'- that we hope you enjoy listening to as much as we enjoyed creating it.
