In 1952, Art Rupe of Specialty Records in Hollywood flew to New Orleans in search of fresh sounds. He hit the jackpot with Lloyd Price, a then-17-year-old singer-songwriter who would become one of the most successful artists in rhythm and blues history. 

Among the 23 selections in this second volume of Price's Specialty recordings are four Top Ten hits: "Oooh-Oooh-Oooh," "Restless Heart," "Tell Me Pretty Baby," and "Ain't It a Shame?." Supplying the rockini Crescent City roll behind. Price's wailing vocals are such heavyweight musicians as Dave Bartholomew, Herb Hardesty, Lee Allen, Earl Palmer, and, on the first two tracks, Fats Domino.
