“Loving You” from 1957 was Elvis Presley's first soundtrack and accompanied the film of the same name, which is about a delivery boy who is discovered by a music publicist and a country-western musician who wants to promote the talented newcomer. This was Presley's first major leading role. The fact that only the A-side tracks appeared in the film did not spoil the fun for fans, as the LP included hits such as “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear,” which reached No. 1 in the US, several covers, and some lesser-known tracks. It was no surprise that the album achieved Certified Gold status. The Midas touch, so to speak.
The success of the film made Elvis one of the highest-grossing stars at the box office, and he now managed to balance his musical and acting career with his enlistment in the US Army.
