This CD shows what a broad spectrum of music Dave Peabody and Regina Mudrich can offer as an accomplished duo. Pearls like "Cold Iron Bed" are almost forgotten. Without jug, but with a lot of innovation, the duo replaces the jug with the help of Tim Penn at the piano - various seat cushions positioned in the grand piano have to serve. The result is an old blues in a new guise - atmospheric and clever.

John Lee Hooker played only a few recordings with piano, but none with violin. That doesn't bother the duo at all.

Also in "Careless Love" you feel that Peabody and Mudrich don't care much about role models, aren't willing to copy, rather appreciate the old recordings without playing them. They give the songs a new breath. So this old blues has probably become the most intimate piece of the CD.

Whether classics like "After You've Gone" or musical oddities like the Mississippi Sheiks' instrumental "Thats It!", probably the fastest recording of "Everybody Loves My Baby", the "Some Of These Days" spiced with a lot of gypsy character, the almost thrifty "Delta Bound" which gets a tremendous fragility through it or the three songs from Peabody's pen "Picture The Blues", "Standing On The Highway" and "Please Don't Tell Me You Love Me" - this album is comparable to a bouquet of wild flowers - wild, multicoloured and full of life.
