Panko from West Berlin - not to be confused with the much later GDR group Pankow - are somewhat reminiscent of Xhol Caravan or early Embryo. One hears mostly long jazzy instrumental sections with flute and alto sax, occasionally interrupted by mostly English vocals and some weirdness. The group existed from the late sixties until the end of 1972, never releasing anything during their lifetime, although they would have had what it takes. It wasn't until 1983 that their drummer brought out the cassette Weil es so schön perlt (Getto SO 36) with sound-perfect live recordings from June 1971. This was not a self-reproduced work, but a regular release with printed cover and label. Two additional tracks were appended to the CD edition.
