The British blues rock institution Nine Below Zero has been a guest at 'Rockpalast' twice. On 19.08.1981 they played at the 'Test Concert' for the '1st Rockpalast Open-Air Festival' on the Loreley Rock in St. Goarshausen. Besides NBZ, they played The Outlaws, 38 Special and Thin Lizzy on stage.

The four blues rockers from South London opened the band round in the afternoon, in the evening they took the plane back to the island and on to the festival in Reading. 15 years later, on 23 June 1996, NBZ returned to the rock. The line-up for the evening included the Southern rockers of Molly Hatchet and Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Band and the Muddy Waters Tribute Blues Band. The day before David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Placebo and Pulp had already rocked the rock, which is steeped in history and myth.
