Grammy-nominated, 7-time Blues Music Award winner Danielle Nicole is one of the best female vocalists and bassists in roots music today. When she began recording "The Love You Bleed", Danielle Nicole knew that this new album would be different from her previous ones.

Produced by Tony Braunagel (Taj Mahal, Eric Burdon, Robert Cray) and mixed by John Porter (B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Bryan Ferry), the album is full of love, loss, will, determination and all the other things that come with love.

The lead single "Make Love" is about consciously overcoming pain and choosing love, family and community in life's difficult moments. "How Did We Get to Goodbye", with its raw and honest lyrics, documents a failed love where there is neither a hero nor the bad guy, and asks the question of how one gets into such a situation without realizing it. The track "Love On My Brain" is a strong mix of old R&B and driving blues and "Right By Your Side" is a classic soul/R&B ballad about never making the mistake of seeing "the one and only" leave again.
