Tami Neilson Sassafrass (CD)

Neilson, Tami – Sassafrass (CD). CD, label: OUTSIDE MUSIC.

Tami Neilson – Sassafrass! is a powerful album where soul, country and rockabilly come together. The Canadian-born, New Zealand-based singer combines her country and rockabilly roots with a strong soul influence on this 2018 release. Outside Music describes Sassafrass! as a deliberately retro-styled album featuring frank and highly relevant lyrics. The 11-track CD includes Stay Outta My Business, Bananas, Diamond Ring, A Woman’s Pain, Devil In A Dress, One Thought Of You, Miss Jones, Smoking Gun, Kitty Cat, Manitoba Sunrise At Motel 6 and Good Man. Stay Outta My Business and Miss Jones are particular highlights, with the latter described as Neilson’s tribute to Sharon Jones. This edition comes as a Digipak on Outside Music and offers an excellent opportunity to discover Tami Neilson’s distinctive blend of roots music, soul and rockabilly.
