Marianne Dissard: L'Entredeux (CD)

(Le Pop Musik) 12 tracks, papersleeve

Marianne Dissard – L’entredeux is the French singer and songwriter’s first studio album, released in 2008 on Le Pop Musik. Recorded in Tucson, Arizona, the album was produced, composed and arranged by Joey Burns, frontman of Calexico. The 12 French-language tracks combine chanson with elements of pop, art rock and the distinctive musical atmosphere of the Tucson scene. Songs include “Cayenne”, “Le Lendemain”, “Les Draps Sourds”, “L’Embellie”, “Flashback”, “Sans-Façon”, “Merci De Rien Du Tout”, “Les Confettis”, “Ce Visage-Là” and “Indiana Song”. Musicians from the Calexico circle also contributed to the recordings. FOMO – a compelling discovery for listeners who enjoy French chanson, atmospheric songwriting and the meeting of French lyrics with an American-influenced musical setting.
