When Maria Muldaur discovered the music of Tuba Skinny, she learned that they, like herself, study, play, and immerse themselves in the early blues, jazz, and jug band music of the '20s and '30s. Listening to their albums, Maria concluded that "not only do they play a wonderful repertoire of cool tunes with great skill and authenticity, but somehow they channel the atmosphere and vibe of that bygone era."

Shortly before the Covid pandemic in January 2020, Maria Tuba asked Skinny to join them for a showcase performance at the International Folk Alliance Conference in New Orleans. That went over so well that an album was immediately conceived and recorded that same year, the title track of which sums it all up: Let's Get Happy Together.

Tuba Skinny and Maria Muldaur played 12 songs as close to the original recordings as possible, breathing life into rarely heard gems from that incredible era. Maria Muldaur's 55+ year career has been a long and adventurous odyssey through the forms of American Roots Music: blues, jug band, bluegrass, jazz and Appalachian "old timey" music. Over 42 albums, Maria has been nominated 6 times for Grammy Awards, as well as Blues, Folk and Roots Awards. She has been honored at the Blues Music Awards in Memphis for many of her Stony Plain releases over the years and is the 2019 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Americana Trailblazer Award from the Americana Music Association.

Als gebürtige New Yorkerin mit viel Interesse für Folk Music, war Maria Muldaur ein typisches Kind der Musikszene von Greenwich Village mit all ihren Einflüssen von Jazz, Blues, Folk, R & B, Country und Rock 'n'Roll. Als Sängerin, Fiddler und Gitarristin nahm sie aktiv an der Folk-Bewegung der 60er Jahre teil. Starke Impulse empfing sie aus der Musik von Doc Watson. Dann wurde Maria Mitglied der Even Dozen Jug Band und später der Jim Kweskin Jug Band, wo sie auf ihren späteren Ehemann Geoff Muldaur traf. Ab 1973, nach zerbrochener Ehe, nahm Maria Muldaur eine ganze Reihe vorzüglicher L.P.s auf.
