Mojo Blues Band

Die Band um den Gründer Erik Trauner verkörpert eine höchst regsame Interessensgemeinschaft, und präsentiert sich als spielfreudiger Brauchtumsverein mit wechselnder Mitgliedschaft, der eine exotische Sprache wie die des Blues allmählich zu der seinen gemacht hat. Gleichermaßen zur Muttersprache aus zweiter Hand mit allen Ablegern und Dialekten. - Den traditionellen Chicago Blues gleichermaßen wie swingenden R&B und rollende Boogies. Aber auch die Musik aus Louisiana hatte es den Mojos seit jeher angetan und mit der von der Zydeco Musik geprägten Nummer "Rosa Lee" gelang es ihnen sogar 1988 die Hitparaden zu erobern.

1977 gegründet konnte diese "in Europa in ihrem Genre konkurenzlose Formation" - so der Betreiber des Wiener Jazzlands, Axel Melhardt - nunmehr über ein Dutzend Tonträger einspielen und die nahezu beispiellose Referenzliste an Kooperationen mit zahllosen internationalen Größen liest sich wie ein Who's Who der traditionellen Bluesszene. Die Mojo Bluesband gastierte auf fast allen einschlägigen Festivals und Konzertbühnen im In- und Ausland und trotz der stolzen Erfolgsbilanz ist nicht zuletzt auch auf Grund der kompletten Neubesetzung (seit Anfang 2002) keinesfalls mit einem Ausglühen des inneren Feuers zu rechnen.
