Henry Mancini

Der Meister der Filmmusik wurde am 16. 4.1924 in Cleveland - Ohio geboren. Er studierte an der Juillard School Of Music in New York und später in Los Angeles. Henry Mancini arbeitete als Pianist und Arrangeur unter anderem für das Orchester Glenn Miller - Tex Beneke.

1951 bis 1957 war er Filmkomponist, zuerst für die Filmindustrie Hollywoods, nach 1958 auch fürs Fernsehen. Seine ersten großen Erfolge, denen bis heute unzählige weitere folgten, waren Titel aus der Filmmusik zu „Breakfast At Tiffany's', nämlich „Moon River', für den er 1961 den Academy Award, und „Day's Of Wine And Roses', für den er 1963 die gleiche Auszeichnung erhielt. Aus seinen vielen Erfolgstiteln sind vielleicht noch zu nennen „Mr. Lucky', „I Love You And Don't You Forget It', „The Shadow Of Paris', „Song About Love', „Charade'.
