Hard to believe: saxophone legend Charles Lloyd celebrated his 80th birthday on March 15, 2018! But his music is just as ageless as the musician himself. Sometimes he played pure jazz with Cannonball Adderley or Keith Jarrett, sometimes he went into psychedelic rock realms with none other than the Doors, the Beach Boys or the Grateful Dead! Lloyd's music is still imbued with a deep spirituality and greatness.

Together with his band The Marvels (including guitar legend Bill Frisell), Charles Lloyd has recently collaborated live and in the studio with folk rock celebrity Lucinda Williams. On Lloyd's new studio album, the singer can now be heard as an incredibly strong voice on a total of five tracks. In addition to Lloyd and Williams' own songs, the album repertoire also includes tracks by Thelonious Monk and Jimi Hendrix.
