The American roots singer and songwriter from Mid-Coast Maine - Pokey Lafarge - presents his 10th album "Rhumba Country". For this new work, LaFarge developed a kaleidoscopic sound that combines mambo, tropicália, rocksteady and mid-century American rock'n'roll from the middle of the century.
The album, produced by Chris Seefried and Elliot Bergman and recorded in L.A, invites you to celebrate life and love.
After spending the last half-decade traveling the country in search of a home across the country in search of a home, Pokey LaFarge found his home in Mid-Coast Maine. Upon arrival, the Illinois-born singer, songwriter and actor made a fundamental change in his life by a fundamental change in his life by working 12 hours a day on a local farm - a a local farm - a turn of events that triggered an extraordinary burst of creativity and redefined his purpose as an artist. "Rhumba Country" was originally sculpted from material created while LaFarge was immersed in working on the farm. "I was pushing a plow or spreading seed, and the songs just came to me," he recalls.
