The Infamous Stringdusters Toward The Fray (2-LP)

Bluegrass has been one of the most important US folk music genres since the 1940s. That the genre is far from dead is demonstrated by one of the most innovative and successful new bluegrass bands of recent years, The Infamous Stringdusters from Nashville, Tennessee.

In 2022, the progressive acoustic quintet will release its new twelfth album, Toward The Fray, a biting social commentary on current world events and, according to the band, a new chapter in their journey. On their website, the Stringdusters write about the record, "Music brought us all together 16 years ago, but life and our evolution as people, not just musicians, is what keeps us together and keeps things interesting. Now we have something to say and the experience to use this moment in a meaningful way. Perhaps this is just a first step in this new direction, and we certainly don't claim to have all the answers - after all, the irony of growth is that it brings with it a certain humility. But as we gain a sense of awareness and responsibility, we want to do everything we can to honor that and do some good in the world. That's what this album is all about."

Twelve songs were written and recorded by Andy Hall (dobro), Andy Falco (guitar), Chris Pandolfi (banjo), Travis Book (bass) and Jeremy Garrett (fiddle) for Toward The Fray, once again showcasing the high level of musicianship and their brilliant songwriting. Not for nothing they were nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Bluegrass Album with their last album A Tribute To Bill Monroe from 2022.
