Martha Fields, an Americana tour de force with real southern swagger, announces her new album, "HEADED SOUTH". Martha's last two albums were among the top 10 best albums of the year on the EUROAMERICANA CHART. With her musical roots in Appalachia, Texas and Oklahoma, her sound reflects this diverse DNA and shows her own Americana path.

Martha highlights her past and present through 12 songs and 2 continents. She wrote, produced and recorded this work "straight from the heart" while cooped up in the Southwest of France with her band of top notch pickers and then mixed in Nashville by Sean Sullivan (Butcher Shoppe Studio). This Texas troubadour embodies a hundred years of country, folk, bluegrass and rock and roll history in a spirit of authenticity and palpable sincerity! In her younger years she shared the stage with Ricky Skaggs and Merle Travis and later even some whiskey soaked nights with Gus Hardin - the rest is history. Over the past 6 years, Martha has toured Europe extensively, from the UK to France, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland and even Lithuania. She has played some of the most prestigious Country/Americana festivals and stages throughout Europe including Southern Fried Perth, Scotland, Country2Country, 02, London, UK, Craponne sur Arzon, France, Glasgow Americana and many others. Martha's seemingly absinthe-tinged vocals and fearless songwriting are complemented by quirky guitars, dobro, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, Hammond organ, piano and even some horns.

Martha's voice and songs are intimate yet powerful, taking the listener on an emotional roller coaster ride through a range of country, blues, folk and bluegrass, helmed by a band with impressive acoustic skills.
