Dave Edge
Another artist who was more honky-tonk than rockabilly, the late Dave Edge nevertheless showed an admirable feel for the tough, rockin' country that George Jones was so adept at during the late '50s and early '60s. Indeed, Wham Bam owes much to Jones' classics White Lightnin' and Who Shot Sam. Co-credited to Edge and J.C. Whatley, from Rogers in Central Texas, Wham Bam , which features Gold Star stalwarts like pianist Doc Lewis, was one half of Houston-based Edge's second 'D' release. He would have a third in 1961.
