'This Machine Still Kills Fascists' isn't a new acoustic folk discovery for Dropkick Murphys - it's a continuation of their journey with Woody Guthrie that began nearly two decades ago when DKM covered Woody's 'Gonna Be A Blackout Tonight' on their 2003 album Blackout. The journey reached a new peak a few years later when DKM founder Ken Casey discovered a few scribbled lines about Boston in the WG archives. The band repainted Woody's lyrics about their hometown into a vicious punk missive called 'I'm Shipping Up To Boston' and released the song on their 2005 album The Warrior's Code.

' First of all, Woody Guthrie embodies the spirit of true rebellion. He has always stood up for the working man and fought the good fight against fascism. As his famous guitar so boldly proclaimed - This Machine Still Kills Fascists.... And this is not our first collaboration with him. In 2004, we found an unpublished lyric in Woody's archives called 'Shipping Up To Boston', which we turned into a song you may recognize....

Since Al Barr took some time off, we wanted to do an album for others, but not do a typical DKM album without him.... so we figured this was the perfect time to revisit Woody's words. And we can't wait for you to hear it!
