Paule Desjardins is a French chanson singer born in Calais.  In 1956 she released her first record "Sentimental strip-tease". In the same year she took part in the Grand prix de la chanson de Deauville 1956 with the song "Toi, c'est vrai". In 1957 followed further records with "Il est là" and "Dalilah" and finally in July 1957 her first charter success "La chanson de Lima", which could hold on to the Top 20 for half a year. She took part in the second Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson on March 3rd 1957 in Frankfurt for France and reached the second place with her chanson "La belle amour". With "Ça ne sert à rien" from the movie "Kommissar Maigret stellt eine Falle" followed another hit for Paule Desjardins in 1958. With the French version of the Paul Anka hit "Diana" she had a last bigger success. It was followed by two more singles and an album, but without much response. From 1956 to 1962 Paule Desjardins released about 10 singles and one album on different labels. At the beginning of the 1960s she ended her career, which was on the rise, out of love and married a factory owner from Millau.
