Eric Clapton’s lifelong passion for the blues burns brightly inNothing But The Blues. The CD of the soundtrack features 17 previously unreleased live performances recorded in 1994 during the legendary guitarist’s tour supportingFrom The Cradle, his GrammyÒ-winning, multi-platinum blues album. Clapton’s longtime co-producer, Simon Climie, has remixed the audio from those performances from the original multi-tracking recordings.

- The previously unreleased live performances onNothing But the Bluesserve as a vital counterpart toFrom The Cradle, which was recorded in the studio. While several songs appear on both, the performances are entirely different. The release also includes songs that did not appear on From the Cradle.

Geboren am 30. 3.1945 in Surrey „Er ist wieder da', jubelten vor knapp einem Jahr Fachwelt und Fans, und sie meinten Eric Clapton, den sie einst zum Gott der Gitarre hochstilisiert hatten. Die letzten 3 Jahre war er fast verschollen gewesen, vom Rauschgift an den Rand des Untergangs gebracht, die fast geniale Begabung zu seinem Instrument war verloren. Mit aller Kraft riss sich Eric Clapton schließlich doch von der Droge los, und begann wieder zu arbeiten.

Die erste Band von Eric Clapton waren die „Roosters“ die Mitglieder hießen Paul Jones, Tom McGuiness und Brian Jones. Als die Gruppe auseinanderbrach stieg er ,für 14 Tage bei Casey Jones ein. Der Job missfiel ihm, und Eric Clapton wechselte in eine Band, die sich Yardbirds nannte. Hier entwickelte sich Clapton zu dem hervorragenden Gitarristen, der er war. 18 Monate später wechselte er zu John Mayall, der ihm den letzten Schliff mit auf den weiteren Weg gab.

1966 gründete Eric mit Ginger Baker und Jack Bruce die mittlerweile sagenumwobene Supergruppe Cream. Bis zu ihrem Splitting im Jahre 1968 setzte Cream die Maßstäbe in der Popmusik. Über 12 Mill. Langspielplatten wurden bis heute verkauft. Nach kurzer Pause gründete Eric Clapton nun mit Baker, Rick Grech und Stevie Winwood die Gruppe „Blind Faith'. Die 4 Musiker produzierten nur 1 Platte, die vor ihrem Erscheinen schon millionenfach verkauft war, absolvierte eine USA- Tournee und löste sich wieder auf. Die letzte Gruppe, die Eric Clapton formierte, nannte sich „Derek And The Dominoes'. Danach zog er sich mehr und mehr aus dem Showgeschäft zurück.
