Cactus was formed in late 1969 by former Vanilla Fudge bassist Tim Bogert and drummer Carmine Appice. In 1970, they brought in blues guitarist Jim McCarty of Mitch Ryder's Detroit Wheels and the Buddy Miles Express, as well as Rusty Day of the Amboy Dukes. This Cactus album was recorded live by legendary producer and engineer Eddie Kramer. It captures the band in Buffalo, 1971. This 2-CD set consists of over 110 minutes of stoner boogie rock at its best. It was previously only available as part of the Rhino Handmade catalog. Now it is offered at an affordable price.

American bluerock band founded by Vanilla Fudge bassist Tim Bogert and drummer Carmine Appice in 1969 . Singetr was Rusty Day and guitarist Jim McCarty.
The band recorded between 1970 - 1972 four albums . In 2006 the band came togehter for a few concerts with Jimmy Kunes as a singer.
