SUNSHINE is Bywater Call's first live album. It's a mix of newly released music, including a cover of Stephen Stills' LOVE THE ONE YOU'RE WITH and the funky new title track SUNSHINE (previously released as a single in May), fan favorites AS IF, SIGN OF PEACE, and EVERYBODY KNOWS from the 2024 album SHEPHERD, as well as BRING ME DOWN from their self-titled debut album from 2019. The album SUNSHINE offers an epic, energetic glimpse into the band's live shows.
The songs feature extended, unique jams, fiery solos, and haunting introductions from concerts in Toronto (Canada), Woodstock (New York, USA), and Newbury (UK).
This album showcases the band's improvisational and innovative power (Dave Barnes – guitar/slide, Mike Meusel – bass, Bruce McCarthy – drums, John Kervin – keyboard, Julian Nalli – saxophone, Stephen Dyte – trumpet) comes to the fore, while lead singer Meghan Parnell showcases her powerful, dynamic, and emotional vocals. It reflects the heart and soul and sweat that are poured out on stage every night. SUNSHINE was recorded and mixed by drummer Bruce McCarthy and mastered by Kristian Montano (Montano Mastering).
