Elkie Brooks (born 25 February 1945 in Salford, England, real name Elaine Bookbinder) is a British singer and former member of the R&B band Vinegar Joe, after which she was successful as a solo artist mainly in the UK.

Her 1975 solo debut album Rich Man's Woman was critically acclaimed but commercially unsuccessful. Her commercial breakthrough came with the follow-up Two Days Away (1977), produced by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, the first of several consecutive hit albums, as well as her hits Pearl's a Singer and later Sunshine After the Rain and Lilac Wine.

Now Universal Music releases a collection of her greatest hits on Pearl's - The Very Best Of as a deluxe version with 2 more tracks 'Rising Cost Of Love' & 'Make You Feel My Love'.
