Colton Bowlin grew up in the hills of Albany, Kentucky, where hard work and family shaped his entire life. He spent his youth working six days a week at his late grandfather’s feed mill, which imbued his songwriting with the authentic values of a small town and the experiences of the working class. On his new album, “Grandpa’s Mill,” Bowlin explores memories, legacy, and the passage of time—with the same quiet honesty that has always been at the heart of his work. He blends songs about his real-life experiences with hard-learned lessons and stories from rural life in the Appalachians. The album was recorded and produced in Athens, Georgia, with David Ferguson (Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Johnny Cash).
