A warm, slightly funky voice, yet so close and intimate, with so much soul and charisma. Bai Kamara Jr.'s music is a mixture of soul, blues, roots, swamp, voodoo and jazz. Bai, son of the former Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Brussels, who grew up in Great Britain but has lived in Brussels for over 25 years, is a dedicated singer-songwriter who lives out his African roots in his music. He has been on stage with international artists such as Habib Koité, Cassandra Wilson, Rokia Traoré, supported Vanessa Paradis on her "Love Album International Tour" in 2014 (25 shows) and sang in duo with Dani Klein of Vaya Con Dios and also gave support at their concerts. His involvement with various aid organisations has also led to a collaboration with the world star Youssou N'Dour. Two of Bai's compositions were also used by Spanish director Paco Torres for the soundtrack of his film "El Vuelo Del Tren (The Magic of Hope)". Bai is a brilliant composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and arranger, who has repeatedly demonstrated his very diverse musical talent in his 5 albums to date ("Living Room", "Urban Gipsy", "Disposable Society", "This Is Home" and "Mystical Survivors").

Bai Kamara about his new longplayer: "My musical and artistic journey has now taken me to this decisive phase of my career, in which the project "Salone" (which means Sierra Leone in the krio language) finally allows me to explore my African roots and especially those of my country of origin Sierra Leone and to live them out musically. Never before I had the strength to do this in this form. So "Salone" is also the title of my new album, which is deeply rooted in blues and roots music. And The Voodoo Sniffers is the name of my new band, with whom I can also realize this project live."
