A collection of cowboy songs by Texas-born MARC WILLIAMS, whose long radio career began in the mid-1920s at Dallas station KRLD and extended to the mid-1950s when he appeared as Happy Hank The Singing Cowboy on a popular children's radio show. In the liner notes, Brian Golbey tells us, "When I was a boy, we had several recordings of Marc Williams at home ... In my opinion, he recorded the definitive versions of several well-known cowboy songs, including Roy Bean (the story of the self-proclaimed judge ... who boasted of being 'All Law West of the Pecos'), The Dying Ranger and Night Herding Song." This CD features the best of his recordings, a casual vocal style, mainly just Marc and guitar.
