American alternative country veteran Lucinda Williams releases the first edition of her "Lu's Jukebox" initiative, covering songs by a single artist and donating the proceeds to struggling independent venues. Runnin' Down A Dream marks the seventieth anniversary of Tom Petty's birth and features thirteen tracks from his career.

Following up on the graphics of Full Moon Fever and just days before the anniversary of his death (on October 2, 2017), Lucinda Williams commemorates the late Tom Petty's personality with this tribute album recorded for Highway 20 Records titled Runnin' Down a Dream: A Tribute to Tom Petty. "We've actually wanted to do a covers series for a long time, but never had the time with my touring schedule," Lucinda Williams explains. "I think the silver lining was being able to get into the songs of some of my favorite artists - to see what makes them tick. My hope for this project is that we can help as many venues as we can. They are our home, as artists. We need to take care of them for the sake of live music to come."
