(Warner Bros.) 11 Tracks - Gatefold Cover -Maybe you know Tony Joe White or not, but we all know his two most famous songs - "Polk Salad Annie" and "Rainy Night In Georgia". "Homemade Ice Cream" maintains the level of these great numbers. So soulful, sultry, lush and full-bodied. Or as Tony Joe would say: "It's swampy".

And because this title is such a Southern classic, such a musical touchstone, we did our best - that makes it an outstanding 45rpm double LP. Experienced audiophiles know and hear the difference. The higher speed reduces distortion towards the centre of the record and improves the tracking characteristics of your pickup. That's a big acoustic advantage! Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio from the original analog tape, this LP sounds phenomenal from the first note to the last fade.

The last four songs on page two of this album will blow your mind. They are so frugal and bluesy and emotional. And the sound is as good as the music. With this new QRP pressing, the sound is so good that it's like the original tape. So solid and deep black is the background from which the music simply stands in the room. You have to hear it to understand what we are trying to describe. It's one of those gorgeous, speech-stealing, goose-bump-inducing, tear-in-the-eye records. You know, the kind we're all looking for as audiophiles?!

When Chad Kassem decided to re-release this album, he knew it wouldn't be a top seller. But it's one of his absolute music and sound favourites, and we feel that anyone who gets involved will be richly rewarded. "Homeade Ice Cream" was originally released by Warner Bros. in 1973 and was co-produced by White and legendary Atlantic producer Tom Dowd. It's White's sixth title and his third for Warner Bros. The recording was made on a small scale, giving the music the space to breathe, one of the reasons for the lifelike sound.
