This rare Japanese CD compilation from P-Vine Records gathers 19 ultra-hard-to-find blues tracks originally released on the Blue Bonnet, Talent, and Star Talent labels between 1947 and 1950. It’s a deep dive into the raw, regional postwar blues scene of Texas and Louisiana — rich with down-home grit, jump blues rhythms, and stripped-down vocals. Featured artists include legendary names and cult figures alike: Professor Longhair in his earliest form, Rufus Thomas, Frankie Lee Sims, Rattlesnake Cooper, Willie Lane, Sonny Boy Davis and more. Many of these tracks have never been reissued in any form outside of their original, now highly collectible 78 rpm pressings. An absolute gem for serious blues collectors and fans of deep-cut postwar roots music.
