Looking back in 2025: Twenty years ago, the film “Brokeback Mountain” was released, which has long been considered a recent Hollywood classic and has reached a huge audience with its dramatic and touching story. It won Oscars not only for Best Director and Best Screenplay, but also for Best Original Score by Gustavo Santaolalla (“The Last Of Us,” “August: Osage County,” “Babel”). The soundtrack album was also a huge success, featuring tracks by Willie Nelson, Rufus Wainwright, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, and others in addition to the score.
