Fabio Treves: Sunday Blues (LP)
(Barley Arts Records) 12 tracks
The adventure of the TREVES BLUES BAND began in 1974, when a young harmonica player from Lambrate decided to embark on a "mission impossible": to spread the values of the blues, its history and its great interpreters. This harmonica player is FABIO TREVES, the "Puma of Lambrate", who has traveled all over Italy and the world with his band, flying the flag of Italian BLUES. His concerts are a journey through the history of this music, from the earliest work songs to archaic country music, from electric Chicago blues to modern blues.
FABIO TREVES can point to numerous collaborations with true blues legends with whom he has played throughout his career, such as Sunnyland Slim, Johnny Shines, Homesick James, Billy Branch, Dave Kelly, Paul Jones, Alexis Korner, Bob Margolin, Sam Lay, David Bromberg, Eddie Boyd and Mike Bloomfield. He has been heard on his records and played live with Roy Rogers, Chuck Leavell, Willy DeVille, John Popper, Linda Gail Lewis, Warren Haynes and is the only Italian artist to have shared the stage with the great genius Frank Zappa. Puma has also lent his harmonica to many Italian artists and played on their records.
We mention some of them: Branduardi, Bertoli, Elio e le Storie tese, Finardi, Graziani, Shapiro, Baccini, Giorgio Conte, Ferradini, Cocciante...
