The Tremeloes All For One And One For All (CD)

Brian Poole & The Tremeloes were famously the band that Decca Records signed in early 1962 instead of The Beatles. Immediately after the Fab Four from Liverpool broke through the following year, The Tremeloes jumped on the Beatles bandwagon with a cover version of “Twist & Shout.”
In 1965, Brian Poole left the band and Chip Hawkes joined as the new singer. The Tremeloes signed a new record deal with CBS and released the Lennon/McCartney composition “Good Day Sunshine” as a single in 1966. With “Here Comes My Baby,” penned by Cat Stevens, the band made it into the US Billboard charts for the first time in 1967. In the same year, they created an evergreen with “Silence Is Golden.” After that, The Tremeloes were regulars in the charts worldwide: “Here Comes My Baby,” “My Little Lady,” “(Call Me) Number One,” “Hello Buddy,” “Yellow River,” and so on! After the albums “Shiner” and “Don't Let The Music Die” for DJM Records, the label of Elton John, among others, the band took a break from recording for several years. With “All For One And One For All,” The Tremeloes returned in 1992 with a new LP.
Alan Blakley, Rick Westwood, and Dave Munden were still there from the founding members. Joe Gillingham and Dave Fryer completed the quintet. The style: still the finest British pop music. Alan Blakely died four years after the album's release, Dave Munden in 2020. For years, “All For One And One For All” was considered the “lost” Tremeloes album, with copies of the CD fetching high prices on the internet. Now the album is back on the market, with seven (!) outtakes that didn't make it onto the original album at the time, including gems such as the hit-worthy “Rising Sun” and “One More Night.”
