Texas Scratch; maybe you've heard the term before, but don't know what it is? Texas Scratch is a style of guitar picking (also known as "Carter Scratch") that was supposedly popularized by Mother Maybelle Carter in 1927.

You may also know the term as Texas lottery tickets. Texas Scratch is also a band made up of two hot Texas guitarists who play groovy blues music in a big way. Because when it comes from Texas, it's big! Texas Scratch is the Texas guitar of Jimmy Suhler (George Thorogood and the Destroyers), the Texas guitar of Buddy Whittington (John Mayallis Bluesbreakers) and the driving drum beat of Jeff Simon (George Thorogood and the Destroyers) Simon (George Thorogood and the Destroyers).

After a few live performances, they met in a studio to record a few tracks. Add to that the help of Texas guitarist Vince Converse (Foghat & Savoy Brown), Brown drummer Roger Earl, bassist Nathaniel Peterson, and producer Kirk Yano, mix it all together, and out comes a batch of modern, guitar-heavy blues tracks that you can never get enough of. Until now! So fire up the grill, heat up the chili, and wash it down with the most thirst-quenching music this side of the Rio Grande. This is Texas Scratch!
