The Shirelles: The Shirelles Sing To Trumpets And Strings (LP, 180g Vinyl)
-
As a follow up to their album 'TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT', the Shirelles offer you their unique presentation of 12 original songs to the accompainment of trumpets and strings. This background, together with their outstanding style, again highlight the versatility of what is today the country's most popular female voice group.
Since 'TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT', the SHIRELLES have had 3 successive hits, 'WILL YOU LOVE ME TO-MORROW', 'DEDICATED TO THE ONE I LOVE', and 'MAMA SAID' which have also catapulted them into the international spotlight. The SHIRELLES are now world famous and their names mean a great perfoman-ce to teenagers in France, Australia, England, ad many other countries of the world, just as well it means a hit performance in the U.S.A.
The songs in this album tend to explain the emotions of the typical teenager when he is faced with certain situations. For the most part the Shirelles sing about happy times but from the opening song 'MAMA SAID' you know that the matter what the Shirelles sing about, that the harmony and feeling that are 'the SHIRELLES' will come through and give you hours of listening pleasure.

The Shirelles
Will You Love Me Tomorrow
Owens, Addie'Micki' Harris, Doris Coley und Beverly Lee waren von ihren Anfängen in Passaic, New Jersey und ihrem ersten kleinen Hit für Decca, I Met Him On A Sunday (Ronde-Ronde), weit entfernt.
