Neil Sedaka passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 86. With him, the music world loses one of the last great craftsmen of 20th-century popular music – a classically trained pianist, a precise composer, and a singer whose work shaped American pop for decades.

Sedaka was not a manufactured star. Educated at the Juilliard School in New York, he mastered harmony, structure, and discipline before stepping into the world of rock ’n’ roll.
