Once again in collaboration with up-and-coming producer Kyle Crownover (Adeem the Artist), this ten-song opus never takes its foot off the gas pedal.
The prevailing themes are wrestling with mortality, pondering reincarnation, and finding that ever elusive sense of contentment in this life that gracefully permeates.

The first half of the album is filled with traditional waltzes ("I Thought I Was the Trees," "Take Me Back to Tennessee"), haunting electro-folk ("What You Want Comes to You") and '60s R&B-style tracks ("Milk & Honey").
It's deep, gentle, and the lyrics are thoughtful. It draws you in without allowing the listener to get too comfortable. Beginning with the aforementioned infectious lead single, the second half of the album brings a completely different vibe. Greasy, distorted guitar licks pepper the second half of Where the Flowers Meet the Dew.

"Playing House" showcases his creative skills to the fullest and would be well at home on a post-grunge radio station circa 1998 between numbers by Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind. Later, on "Nothin' to Haul", he takes aim at the posers and wannabes that populate the Nashville scene.
